Trouble in the dancing arcade game business (SFgate)

Virtual Dancing: Global marketing decisions threaten high-stepping fans of imported music games. There are several software emulators for PC, though, so how hard would it be for a company to put together a bare minimum spec box, a pad, and a screen? The couple discussions with Ink about the arcade industry a while back were enlightening, too. What's the future of this trend?

Konami is just the latest Japanese gamemaker to shut down or dramatically downsize its U.S. arcade subsidiary -- Capcom (maker of the popular Street Fighter games), Data East and Taito have already done so. U.S. companies have been abandoning the arcade industry too; Chicago's Midway stopped making arcade games last year.
