Only one story?Elizabeth Hand's "Cleopatra Brimstone," worthily the longest tale in the book?is both sexually explicit and deeply incorrect. (I'll say no more about Hand, whom I've not reviewed since we got to know each other too well, about half a decade ago, for me to continue pretending to be objective; but can suggest this: that "Cleopatra Brimstone" builds fruitfully on what I thought was so interesting up to 1995, round about when I stopped being able to say so.)
Also in this Sci-Fi Week, review of that The Matrix Revisited DVD and some interesting news, including Infinite Matrix with Bruce Sterling's weblog being back, if I hadn't mentioned that earlier. Cool chair, for example. I doubt he can keep up with whippersnapper Cory Doctorow of Boing Boing--but then, that's a labor of love, eg:
It turns out, though, that gay ewes are hobbled by the fact that the way that a ewe solicits sex is by standing still, thus, a group of lesbian sheep are incapable of coupling up, since they all go motionless when they're interested in one another.
See also Bee, an alt comic though not
genre, from Mark Frauenfelder of Boing Boing.
