Crowdsourcing the Demand for OpenID!

Brian Ellin of JanRain wrote up an awesome app running on AppEngine over the past week which lets you browse the web and "Demand OpenID". Really simple site which shows a running tally of the top sites (currently Twitter and Flickr) where people want to be able to login with OpenID. It includes a dead simple bookmarklet for you to add your demand as you're browsing around.

Marshall over on ReadWriteWeb wrote about it as well; Demand.OpenID.net: A One Click Call to Action.

Impromptu Gay Marriage Party in the Castro

Some pics from the spur-of-the-moment party that sprung up in the Castro last night due to the Supreme Court descision making gay marriage legal in California.

ALSO A BURRITOSLUG

living in a world of quicksand

First off, a little bookkeeping: Thanks to everyone who helped me out while I was feeling bad; to S. A. Hunter, a new friend who has been unfailingly lovely; and to my ex, for getting back in touch and being entirely amiable. Very much appreciated, y'all.

Also, I updated my LJ Profile, which is slightly less of a mess now, and also includes a couple more sites. I've only done anything with Pownce and Tumblr so far, but there will some music-related stuff on my currently-empty Project Playlist and Muxtape accounts in the near-ish future.

On with ACTUAL CONTENT. )

Overall, things are just on the good side of average lately. I haven't really been sleeping too well, and I've had some trouble with money, but asides a few instances my mood's been manageable, and I've reasonably enjoyed what I've been doing. Hopefully things will get better, or at least not get worse.

It's like Global Frequency: IRL.

In a speech today, Arizona Senator John McCain described what the United States would look like after four years of his presidency, although he neglected to mention the enormous purple and blue enchanted castle in which every American would be able to eat their fill of ice cream and pie any time they wished, even if they hadn't eaten all their vegetables, and be able to stay up as late as they wanted, even on a school night.

Virtual inheritance weirdness

I was trying to see if I could emulate something like Java's final by changing the scope of an inheritance. I got some weird results.

Hooray for California! Same-sex couples can get married there, as well as here in MA.

I wonder if I'll get to marry both my boyfriends before I'm an ol' wrinkle-bag.

Gay Marriage in California...

The California Supreme Court has decided: Separate is not equal. Two people of the same gender can marry.

Here's all of my comments about the decision:

It's about time. Two states down, forty-eight states and the Federal government to go.

Take care, all.

New Noze Album - Songs On The Rocks

Resident Advisor, uh, advised me today of a new album by the duo Noze. I previewed it over at Beatport, and it's unlike anything I've ever heard. If you take the oompa accordian stuff that Modeselektor occasionally does, mix it with a house beat, and add about 200% more drunk, you might start getting close to what these guys sound like. It's lovely.

The standout for me right now is "Remember Love". Check it out here :
